about

Check out the Floor Sessions live videos at www.youtube.com/playlist?feature=edit_ok&list=PLB67E1A67E6752312

A new side project in cover song collaborations.

The idea originated as a cover challenge for fans: I'd throw out a theme and ask them to send me relevant song suggestions to record for YouTube. This year, instead of reaching out for song suggestions (though always welcome), I’m putting out a call for collaboration; itching to trade art for art. I want to pair each of my “Floor Sessions” live videos with a recorded studio version to give away as a free download. Low pressure and mainly just for the fun of it :)

Though many of them are already set up, if you feel inspired enough to embark on a recording or video collaboration with me, please send your info and some examples of work to info@margotmacdonald.com

Track Name: Twice
Twice I turn my back on you
I fell flat on my face but didn't lose
Tell me where would I go
Tell me what led you on I'd love to know

Was it the blue night
Gone fragile
Was it both the men
In a wonder steady gone under
Was it the light ways
So frightening
Was it two wills
One mirror holding us dearer now

Thought I had an answer once
But your random ways swept me along
Colossal signs so I got lost
With so many lovers singing soft

Was it the blue night
Gone fragile
Was it both the men
In a wonder steady gone under
Was it the light ways
So frightening
Was it two wills
One mirror holding us dearer now
Track Name: The Book Of Love
The book of love is long and boring
No one can lift the damn thing
It's full of charts and facts and figures
And instructions for dancing

But I, I love it when you read to me
And you, you can read me anything

The book of love has music in it
In fact, that's where music comes from
Some of it is transcendental
Some of it is just really dumb

But I, I love it when you sing to me
And you, you can sing me anything

The book of love is long and boring
And written very long ago
It's full of flowers and heart-shaped boxes
And things we're all too young to know

But I, I love it when you give me things
And you, you oughta give me wedding rings
